>  Ear toileting (removal of ear wax): private fees apply to all patients

> Health assessments: Aged 75 years and over, aged 45-49 who are at risk of developing a chronic disease, aged 40-49 for type 2 diabetes risk evaluation, people with an intellectual disability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders (no age restrictions)

> Chronic Disease Management (CDM): There is a range of CDM care your doctor and nurse can provide for you. Your nurse plays an integral role in improving your overall long term health outcomes by offering CDM and co-ordination of the delivery of care. Working in collaboration with your doctor, the nurse can assist you in your health care needs and help you to achieve your goals. Anyone with a long term chronic medical condition may benefit from a GP Management plan. Health care issues include asthma, lung or respiratory disease, cardiac disease, diabetes, depression, osteoarthritis.

Billing Arrangements

We are a mixed billing practice. This means that some patients will pay a contribution payment at each visit.

  • Pensioner Concession Card Holders
  • People 70 years and over
  • Children 16 years and under

Bulk Billing available.

  • All other patients
  • We use Tyro eft and can process your Medicare rebate immediately to EFT card. Please note: the eft terminal does not allow Medicare rebate to be paid back to a credit card.
  • Some procedures attract a further out of pocket expense for all patients.
  • Please ask our admin team for further information.

There is a fee for service.  Please call the practice for our fee structure.

All accounts are payable by eftpos or major credit cards. We do not accept AMEX.  If you have any questions, please contact the reception staff or speak with GP at your next visit.

 

Workers' Compensation

Workers' Compensation accounts will be billed to Workcover Queensland or your employer, however, should liability not be accepted for the injury, then the account will be your responsibility. The letter of acceptance will be required before billing to a private company or business.

Referrals to Specialists

An appointment is required to obtain any referral. Please call the practice to make an appointment.

It is important to note that visiting a Specialist will often incur out of pocket charges. Costs associated with visiting Specialists vary. We recommend you enquire about out of pocket charges when you make appointments with Specialist's rooms.

Test Results

We do have an SMS recall system however we encourage you to contact the practice if you are concerned about your results.  Please allow 2-3 days for results to arrive.

Test results are available from your GP or nurse. They will advise you of normal results or advise if a further appointment is necessary.

Prescriptions

In order to monitor your health and fulfil our ethical and legal responsibilities, we require that you attend a GP's appointment in order to receive further prescriptions for your medications.

This practice does not prescribe Narcotics S8 drugs to any new patients.

Medical Certificate

A certificate may only be issued after an examination by a GP, so please make an appointment for this.

Home, Hospital and Nursing Home Visits

Visits to patients at home, in Hospital and Nursing Homes may be arranged at the discretion of your regular treating GP.

Australian Privacy Principles

Our practice complies with both laws and the Australian and Health Privacy Principles. This act gives individuals the right to know what information a private sector organization holds about them, the right to access this information and also make corrections if they consider data is incorrect.

Interpreter Service

Whatever your preferred language, we can help you organise an interpreter through Translating & Interpreting Service (TIS) to assist with any language barriers. We also arrange interpreters through National Auslan Interpreter Booking Service (NABS) for our hearing impaired patients.

Patient Feedback and Complaints

We genuinely wish to hear from you. From time to time this practice invites patients to complete questionnaires on their views of the practice and how it can be improved. These surveys are completed confidentially and help us improve our services. We believe that problems are best dealt with through the practice. Please contact the Practice Manager if you have any concerns.

Updating Your Personal Details

At each visit we will check your personal details.  This is to ensure the accuracy of your patient information eg. your name, address, date of birth and best contact number. You may be a long standing patient of this practice but it is our legal responsibility. Please ensure you bring with you your current Medicare card and any concession cards that you may hold.

Reminder Systems

We participate in National & State reminder systems, e.g. for pap smears, immunisations and other tests and follow-up as deemed necessary by our GP's. Please advise your GP if you do not wish to participate in these schemes.

Medical and Nursing Students

We regularly host Medical and Nursing Students at the practice. A team member will advise you if a Student is present. If you do not wish the Student to sit in on your consultation please advise the Receptionist or GP.
